Moses

I will name the young hawk

Moses. When I see him, he

delivers me out of the hand of

Pharaoh. He rises above to

encounter distance. He comes

only so close as to inspire

wonder of where the

wilderness begins. “Walk far”

he cries across the untrod

valley of humility. Walk far to the

common and obscure tasks of life

carried out in love for

that which is its own reward;

the promised land of being human

and living in a place called home.
